Partners through education, recreation, and conservation

Barr Lake has been a meaningful part of my family’s life for over a decade. I first began bringing my two daughters here ten years ago, drawn by the park’s ability to offer a peaceful reset from our busy lives. Through hands-on educational programs, volunteer opportunities, and countless moments in nature, Barr Lake has deeply shaped our family’s connection to the outdoors.
Serving on the Friends of Barr Lake board has allowed me to give back to a place that has given us so much. I began as Community and Events Coordinator, organizing the Harvest Festival in 2024 and 2025 and the Raptor Run in 2025, and I now serve as President. In this role, my focus is strengthening community relationships, encouraging member involvement, and helping fund important park projects so others can experience the same sense of connection and impact.
My background is in elementary education, and volunteering has always been central to my life. I’ve supported school communities through PTO leadership, cultural events, and experiential learning opportunities, and I continue that work as an exchange coordinator with the nonprofit Adolesco. Outside of volunteering, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two daughters, and our dogs—especially hiking, birding, stargazing, and exploring together. I’m especially fond of corvids (ravens in particular) and love fall for its colors, crisp air, and earthy scent.
