Partners through education, recreation, and conservation

After moving to Brighton from Westminster, my family and I were eager to explore our surrounding area—and that’s how we discovered Barr Lake. Not long after, a friend, Elena Gonzalez-Woods, introduced us to the strong community behind the lake. We attended several events, quickly fell in love with the experience, and appreciated how easy it is to enjoy open space, wildlife, and meaningful connections so close to home.
What I value most about Barr Lake is its preservation of history, commitment to conservation, and the opportunity it provides to connect with both nature and people—old friends and new alike.
I currently serve as Treasurer for Friends of Barr Lake, where I safeguard and monitor the organization’s financials. My background in finance and operations began early through my parents’ small business, where I gained hands-on experience across many areas—from farmers markets and product manufacturing to invoicing, sales, and bookkeeping. I’ve also served on the PTO of a language immersion school, organizing a cultural night and a 5K that required budgeting, volunteer coordination, and securing sponsorships and donations. In addition, I’ve run my own yoga business for nearly ten years.
Outside of Barr Lake, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, teaching yoga, hiking, staying active, watching movies at home, and going to concerts. I love a good dad joke, enjoy cooking and creating, am always eager to learn something new, and hope to get into mushrooming someday.
