Partners through education, recreation, and conservation

I had visited Barr Lake only a few times with my husband, enjoying short walks and the beautiful scenery, when a message from my friend Elena on Facebook changed everything. She suggested I consider joining the Friends of Barr Lake board, and I felt truly honored to be asked. I initially joined as a favor to Elena, but I’ve stayed because I genuinely believe in the mission of preserving Barr Lake as a special place for others to enjoy.
Barr Lake is a beautiful natural area, and we’re incredibly fortunate to have it so close to home. I currently serve as a Member-at-Large and am always willing to step in wherever help is needed. I’m especially comfortable working behind the scenes and serving as a backup or last-minute support to help ensure events and activities run smoothly.
Outside of Barr Lake, I enjoy reading in my spare time, thrifting with my adult daughters, and visiting libraries whenever I travel to new towns. I’m the proud parent of six children, and Colorado is the fourth state I now call home.
