What We Do

Friends of Barr Lake, the 501(c)(3) organization with the sole purpose of supporting Barr Lake State Park, is dedicated to preserving, enhancing, and promoting the park’s natural beauty and recreational opportunities. We work in collaboration with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, park rangers, and a community of dedicated volunteers to ensure the park remains a cherished sanctuary for all.

Our mission is to:

  • Fundraising for Special Events: Raise funds to support a variety of special events and educational programs that engage and inspire our community.
  • Park Maintenance and Improvement: Partner with rangers and volunteers to maintain the park’s trails and structures, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for visitors.
  • Community Engagement: Organize and participate in activities such as spring cleaning and trail maintenance, fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility for the park’s well-being.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Advocate for conservation efforts and sustainable practices that protect the park’s natural resources and wildlife.

Through these efforts, we strive to enhance the visitor experience, promote environmental stewardship, and ensure that Barr Lake State Park remains a vibrant and accessible natural space for generations to come.
