Partners through education, recreation, and conservation
This year’s Bald Eagle Festival was better than ever! We couldn’t continue to support these kinds of events without the help of the Barr Lake State Park Staff and Volunteers. Friends of Barr Lake is proud to be able to work with such wonderful people, including the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies!
We had so many people attending that we extended our Eagle Express ride even longer. It was a great day!
We have added additional shuttles. They will run continuously from 9-2. We have added additional live bald eagle presentations at 12, 12:30 and 1:00!
Saturday, February 1st, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. 8th Annual Bald Eagle Festival and “Adopt and Eagle” opportunity!
The Friends of Barr Lake will be adopting out bald eagles as part of their Adopt An Eagle program again! Along with a stuffed eagle toy you will get an adoption certificate and the Friends will also send you 4 eagle postcards with facts throughout the year by mail. The adoption fee for the Adopt An Eagles is $25. They will be available at the Nature Center during the Bald Eagle Festival.
We’ll have crafts for the kids and a live raptor presentation that everyone will enjoy.
Weather permitting, we will shuttle guests on the Eagle Express to and from the gazebo. Kids can join a Naturalist for Build It Big!, constructing a life-sized replica of a Bald
eagle nest. The hike is three miles round trip. Join Bird Conservancy of the Rockies for a presentation as well.
