At Friends of Barr Lake, our Board of Directors is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of Barr Lake State Park. Our Board members are passionate volunteers who bring a wealth of experience and commitment to our organization. Here’s what they do:
Leadership and Vision:
Our Board provides strategic direction and leadership to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of Friends of Barr Lake. They develop and implement plans that align with our mission to protect the park’s natural resources and enrich the visitor experience.
Community Engagement:
Board members actively engage with the community, fostering partnerships and collaborations with local organizations, businesses, and individuals. They work tirelessly to raise awareness about the park’s needs and the importance of conservation.
Fundraising and Resource Management:
The Board oversees fundraising initiatives and resource management to support park projects, educational programs, and events. They ensure that funds are used effectively and transparently to benefit the park and its visitors.
Advocacy and Outreach:
Our Board advocates for policies and initiatives that support environmental conservation and outdoor recreation. They represent Friends of Barr Lake at local, state, and national levels, working to secure support and funding for the park.
Volunteer Coordination:
The Board coordinates volunteer efforts, enabling community members to contribute their time and talents to the park. They organize events and activities that engage volunteers in meaningful and impactful ways.
Event Planning and Execution:
From the annual Harvest Festival to educational trail walks, our Board plans and executes a variety of events that bring the community together and highlight the beauty and importance of Barr Lake State Park.
